Here's How the World Mourned the Orlando Shooting
Its being termed as the deadliest mass shooting in US history.

Omar Mateen, 29, an American-born man pledging loyalty to Islamic State, opened fired at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, early on Sunday in what is being termed as the deadliest mass shooting in US history. Latest reports said 49 people were killed and over 50 were injured.

President Barack Obama has condemned the incident, calling it "an act of terror and hate".

The incident shocked everyone across the world, and in many cities, thousands took to the streets and participated in candlelight vigils in remembrance of the Orlando mass shooting victims.

In a day of horror, pain and grief, people took to Twitter to show solidarity and mourn the victims of the deadly shooting. Celebrities sent their love and condolences to the bereaved families.

Leaders from all political parties extended their condolences.

In a symbolic move, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio declared that all flags in the city would fly at half-mast.

As a tribute to the victims of Orlando shooting, New York’s Empire State Building went dark.

Also in memory of the victims, both the Orlando Eye and the spire of One World Trade Center were lit up in pride colors.
