Pakistan is supplying nuclear material to North Korea in violation of UN norms, highly-placed sources in US said on Wednesday.
The sources told CNN-News18 that elements of the Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) were supplying restricted items like 'Monel' and 'Inconel' that were supplied by Chinese companies.
The supplies of Beijing Suntech Company Limited to Pakistan were diverted to North Korea but the Chinese government hushed up this matter, it is learnt, as it could have negative consequences for Pakistan's bid at the NSG.
Another alarming revelation was that Pakistan was also providing North Korea equipment which are directly used in producing nuclear weapons.
Two North Korean diplomats, Kim Yong Choi and Jang Yong Son posted at the North Korean Embassy in Tehran, had visited Pakistan eight times between 2012 and 2015 and met with officials who were directly responsible for Pakistan's nuclear programme.
