Bajaj Auto To Launch Pulsar NS400, A New Chetak Variant This Year
This year, Bajaj Auto is slated to introduce several cutting-edge bikes, such as the Pulsar NS400, a new electric bike, and the Chetak EV variant.

Bajaj Auto is planning to introduce exciting new models to its lineup, indicating a strong push towards innovation and market expansion.

The company’s Executive Director Rakesh Sharma recently revealed in a post-earnings call that the Indian automotive company intends to introduce a new variant of its popular electric scooter Chetak as well as the highly anticipated Pulsar NS400.

Furthermore, a ground-breaking CNG-powered motorcycle is in the works, demonstrating Bajaj’s dedication to sustainable mobility.

“In the domestic motorcycle market, we grew at twice the rate of the industry in the October-December quarter. But our focus is on the top half of the industry – the 125cc plus segment – where we grew three times the rate of the industry. As a result, our market share went close to 31 per cent,”Autocar India quotedBajaj Auto’s Executive Director Rakesh Sharma as saying.

Bajaj Chetak EV: Details Here

The Chetak has been a driving force behind Bajaj’s electric vehicle (EV) ambitions. The company plans to increase monthly sales to 15,000 units by March 2024 and add a new model to the Chetak lineup in the first quarter of the following fiscal year. This lineup expansion is expected to strengthen Bajaj’s position as a major player in India’s rapidly growing electric two-wheeler market.

In comparison to the current models, the new Chetak variant is probably going to be a more economical choice. The purpose of this calculated move is to challenge the market leadership of companies such as TVS Motor, Ather, and Ola by targeting the price-sensitive demographic.

In addition, Bajaj reportedly intends to expand its line of electric two-wheelers by adding a new model in the first quarter of the upcoming fiscal year.

Bajaj Pulsar NS400: What To Expect

The Pulsar NS400 is a long-awaited addition to Bajaj’s popular Pulsar lineup. The bike will be powered by a 373cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 40 horsepower and 35 Nm of peak torque. In the premium motorcycle segment, it is expected to compete with models such as the KTM Duke 390 and the Royal Enfield Himalaya.

Bajaj is also looking to expand its network to support its electric vehicle ambitions. The company intends to expand the number of cities where its electric scooters are sold to 200 soon. There are no details available about the CNG-powered motorcycle yet. However, it is speculated to be a 100-125cc motorcycle.

The company’s intention to solidify its position in the Indian two-wheeler market is evident from Bajaj’s aggressive product launches and plans for network expansion. A game-changer could be the new CNG model, but the company’s success is expected to be pushed by the new Chetak variant and the Pulsar NS400.
