The leading player in the four-wheeler segment Kia is expected to launch the hybrid avatar of the hot-selling product Seltos. The model is expected to enter production by the next year, and will arrive in the home country first before 2025 ends.
The upcoming product is a part of the company’s future plan, where it aims to introduce nine hybrid models by 2028. To note, the company has not confirmed or released any details about the Seltos hybrid as yet. However, some leaks suggested that it share related hints later this year.
Expected Powertrain Options
The report says, if the Seltos hybrid gets launched, it will be offered in a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain. This will allow the customers to enjoy an improved mileage, and will offer a smooth driving expirence as compared to the ongoing version.
Engine and Transmission
The upcoming offering is likely to borrow the same hybrid system, which has been used in Hyundai’s Kona. The model might use a bigger engine option with 32 kW electric motor. It could be powered by 1.6-litre hybrid unit, which already has been seen in the Kona.
Power
When it comes to power, customers can expect an overall output of 140 BHP and a peak torque of 265 Nm. The setup will be paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and will be offered with an optional ‘electronic’ all-wheel drive-through electric motor.
