Career counselling expert Amit Ahuja said that students have to report for the morning shift of JEE Main April 4 session between 7:20 AM to 8:30 AM.

The second session of JEE Main, India’s largest engineering entrance examination, is set to commence on April 4. This examination will be conducted from April 4 to April 12. The BE/ B.Tech examination is scheduled for April 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9, while the B.Arch examination is slated for April 12.

With over 11 lakh students registered for the April session, more than 2 lakh students are expected to appear for the exam in two shifts each day, resulting in over 1 lakh students per shift. Additionally, 12.31 lakh students had already registered for the January examination, with approximately three lakh students newly registering for the April examination. Therefore, the total number of unique candidates, combining both the January and April JEE Main sessions, has surpassed 14 lakh.

Career counselling expert Amit Ahuja said that students have to report for the morning shift between 7:20 AM to 8:30 AM and the afternoon shift between 1:20 PM to 2:30 PM. Entry to the examination site will be closed half an hour before the start of the examination. Students will be allotted their lab through the barcode reader present in the admit card. The students will have to submit the self-declaration format in the admit card with a left thumb impression and their photograph.

Original identification proof, a self-declaration filled admission card, a transparent pen, a self-photograph, and a transparent water bottle are required of the students. Students presenting a photocopy of their ID or a smartphone photo will not be allowed entrance. It will not be permitted for students to carry any gadgets with them. Additionally, large-buttoned clothing and shoes with heavy soles are prohibited. Six rough worksheets will be given to students for rough work. These sheets must be returned with the name and roll number written on them once the test is over. Their response sheet won’t be checked if they don’t. Additionally, the student must deposit the self-declaration form and admission card at the specified location.

Students who need to visit the washroom in between the exams will be thoroughly tested using metal detectors. Any instance of unfair means will lead to disqualification from the exam for three years and also a criminal case against them.

Ahuja emphasised that students who did not provide their Aadhaar number during the JEE Main application process will need to complete the undertaking provided in the admit card and bring it with them. Moreover, they will only be granted admission to the examination after presenting this undertaking, which must be signed by the NTA Special Examiner and submitted.
