The private schools, in Gautam Buddha Nagar, started accepting applications under the Right to Education (RTE) on Saturday. The drive will fill 25% of the seats at the private schools located in four blocks in Gautam Buddha Nagar. Four stages will comprise the admissions procedure for the district’s 16,516 private school seats. This process is scheduled to last until July 9. Applications will be accepted from January 20 to February 18, for the first phase. From February 19 to February 25, applications will be examined. The selection of the admissions lottery date will take place on either February 26 or March 6.
The Education Department has identified 1,112 schools, according to Basic Education Officer Rahul Panwar. Seats have been increased in number. Online applications will be accepted for admission to schools located within a one-kilometre radius of the ward or gram panchayat region. He said that applications will be accepted from March 1 through March 30 for the second phase. Applications will be reviewed from April 1 through April 7, and the lottery dates are set for April 8 through April 17.
Panwar said that the third phase will start from April 16 and applications will be accepted till May 8. Scrutiny of applications will be held from May 9 to May 15 and the lottery will be drawn between May 16 and May 23. In the fourth phase, applications will be accepted from June 1 to June 20, scrutiny of applications will be done from June 21 to June 27, and the lottery date will be decided from June 28 to July 7.
According to the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009, which is the equivalent of the consequential legislation envisioned under Article 21-A, every child is entitled to a full-time elementary education in a formal school that meets certain fundamental norms and standards, of a satisfactory and equitable quality.
