RSMSSB Introduces 5th Answer Option In Recruitment Exams, Deets Inside
The board has granted an extra 10 minutes to consider and select the fifth option thoughtfully.

The Rajasthan Subordinate and Ministerial Services Selection Board (RSMSSB) has introduced a change, providing candidates with five answer options instead of four. The first four will pertain to the question as usual, while the 5th option will be specifically for unanswered questions (Question Not Attempted). If a candidate opts not to select any of the first four options, they must choose the 5th option, indicating their decision not to attempt that particular question. In the event that a candidate leaves any of the four options unfilled, they are now required to complete the fifth option. Failing to do so will result in negative marking, with deducted marks. Additionally, the board has granted an extra 10 minutes to consider and select the fifth option thoughtfully.

Candidates failing to select at least one of the five options for over 10 percent of the questions in the recruitment examinations, where the fifth option is implemented, will face disqualification.

In the RSMSSB recruitment exams, candidates are required to use a blue ballpoint pen to fill one of the five options (A, B, C, D, or E) on the OMR sheet. If a candidate leaves a question unanswered, they must select the fifth option (E) and darken its circle. Failure to darken any of the five options will result in a 1/3 deduction of marks per unanswered question, indicating a negative marking system.

After completing the exam, candidates must hand over the OMR sheet to the examiner, who separates the carbon copy for the candidate to keep them safely until the final result/selection process, when it must be produced as required by the Board.

The decision to introduce a 5th option on OMR sheets in examinations conducted by the RSMSSB, along with providing candidates with carbon copies, is aimed at preventing cheating and reducing incidents of corruption. This initiative aims to discourage candidates from randomly selecting options when uncertain about the answer. Additionally, in case of any irregularities, candidates can refer to the carbon copy for verification and correction of their answers.

The RSMSSB Chairman Alok Raj has stated that the introduction of the fifth option aims to enhance transparency in examinations, ensuring future exams are conducted with clarity and without disputes.
