Chicken pickle is quite common in South India. In Andhra Pradesh, it is commonly referred to as Kodi pachadi. Recently, content creator Puja Korupu shared an easy recipe for a Mango Chicken pickle on her Instagram handle.

To create a Mango Chicken pickle, roast entire spices (cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom) on low heat for 2-3 minutes. Once finished, crush them into a fine powder. Now, take boneless chicken pieces and wash them.

Ingredients:

  • Coriander seeds – 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds – 1/2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds – 2 tsp
  • Cinnamon – 1 inch
  • Cloves – 7-8
  • Cardamom – 4-5
  • Oil – 250ml
  • Chicken boneless – 300gm
  • Ginger garlic paste – 2tsp
  • Grated raw mango – 250gm
  • Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – 2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder – 6 tsp

How To Make:

  • In a pan, heat oil and add small pieces of boneless chicken.
  • Fry until slightly browned, then add ginger-garlic paste. Stir well and let the chicken cook for a few minutes.
  • Once cooked, remove from heat and allow it to cool. Transfer the chicken to a bowl and add grated raw mango, turmeric powder, salt, red chili powder, and the prepared masala (ground coriander seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, mustard seeds, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom).
  • Mix thoroughly and set aside overnight.
  • Your mango chicken pickle is now ready to be served with white rice.
