Newcastle: Newcastle secured their Premier League status with a 2-0 victory on Sunday over West Ham, which announced the departure of manager Sam Allardyce after the final game of the season. Moussa Sissoko and Jonas Gutierrez scored for Newcastle, whose victory contributed to Hull taking the final relegation place.
Allardyce's exit from West Ham had been anticipated and confirmation that he wouldn't get a new contract came straight after the final whistle.
Meanwhile, Hull were relegated after two seasons in the Premier League following a 0-0 draw with Manchester United that sent the visitors into the Champions League playoffs.
Hull needed to beat United and also was relying on Newcastle failing to beat West Ham. Neither happened, with Newcastle winning 2-0 to give Hull no chance of staying up.
Marouane Fellaini was sent off for United in the 77th minute for a studs-first tackle on Paul McShane to cap a disappointing display by Louis van Gaal's team, which was dominated by Hull. United finished the season in fourth place and must win a playoff in August to qualify for the group stage of Europe's top club competition.
