How to Add a Phone Number on Twitter

Via X/Twitter's Web Page

Go to X. If you aren't signed in, sign in with your account.

Open your settings. Click on your profile picture from the top bar and select Settings and privacy from the drop-down list.

Open mobile settings. Select Mobile from the left side.

Select your country/region.

Add your phone number. Type your number without adding 0 before your number. Hit the Continue button. Now X will send a code via text message to your phone.

Verify your number. Enter the verification code in the Verification code box and click Activate phone.

Wait for X to send you a confirmation message. Also, you can see a "Your phone is activated!" message on your computer.

Via X/Twitter for iOS

Launch the app. Sign in to your account.

Tap on your profile icon from the top menu.

Open your settings. Tap on Tap Settings and privacy from the profile icon menu.

Tap on Account.

Add your phone number. Tap on Phone number or Add. If you have already added a phone number, tap on Update number.

Type your number. Don't add your country code.

Tap "Add phone". Now X will send you a verification SMS text message.

Verify your number. Type down your verification code from the text message and tap Verify. Done!

Via X/Twitter for Android

Launch the X app. If you aren't signed in, sign in to your account.

Open your profile. Tap on the ☰ icon or your profile picture in the top.

Open your settings. Tap Settings and privacy.

Open your account settings. Just tap on Account.

Tap "Phone number". If you haven't previously added a phone number, tap Add instead of Phone number. If you have already added a phone number, tap on Update number.

Enter your phone number in the empty field.

Tap "Add phone." Now X will send you a verification code to your number.

Verify your number. Enter the verification code and tap Verify.
