An 18-year-old NEET aspirant has gone missing from Rajasthan’s Kota after he left for his coaching institute around 7 am on Saturday.
The student identified as Yuvraj is a native of Sikar district and was currently preparing for the NEET entrance examination at a private coaching center, reported India Today.
On Saturday, Yuvraj left his hostel in the Transport Nagar area to reach his institute at 7 am. Since then, the teenager remains untraceable. The report also stated that the boy left his mobile phone at the hostel.
The incident comes barely a week after another student, Rachit Sondhya, a native of Madhya Pradesh went missing from the coaching hub.
The 16-year-old JEE aspirant left his hostel for a routine test and since then remained missing. He was last captured on CCTV where he was entering a forest area, police said. Sondhya was taking coaching for the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) from a Kota institute for over a year.
On Sunday noon, Sondhya left his hostel room in the Jawahar Nagar police station area for a routine test. In a CCTV footage, he was seen taking a cab. He reached Garadiya Mahadev temple from where he was last seen entering the forest area, police said.
Sondhya’s bag, mobile, room keys, and other belongings were recovered from near the temple late Monday evening, DSP Bhawani Singh said, adding that a search operation by police and SDRF teams is underway but the teen is still untraceable.
The JEE aspirant’s parents reached Kota and lodged a missing complaint on Sunday evening after they failed to reach out to their son as his phone was switched off, police said.
According to family members, Sondhya was concerned about his excessive use of his mobile that distracted him from his studies and he had reportedly locked his mobile two times in the past to quit this habit, the DSP said.
