Los Angeles: Hollywood celebrities seem to have taken the Shakespearean phrase 'What's in a name?' a bit too seriously, branding their kids with bizarre monikers of late. Latest to join the list of weird celebrity baby names is actress Uma Thurman's new born daughter, who goes by the name Rosalind Arusha Arkadlina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson, also called as Luna.
Thurman, who gave birth to her first child with partner Arpad Busson last year, says it was her elder daughter Maya Ray's idea to give so many names to the child. Maya is Thurman and ex-husband Ethan Hawke's daughter.
"Maya came up with the best excuse, which was that I probably wouldn't get to have any more children, so I just put every name that I liked into Luna's," Thurman had said. R&B superstar Beyonce named her first child Blue Ivy Carter. Though she didn't comment on the baby's unusual name, some reports suggest 'Blue' has played a major part in husband Jay Z's music career while middle name 'Ivy' was chosen because of the number 4 or Roman numeral IV, which is significant in the couple's relationship.
Singer Mariah Carey and husband Nick Cannon named their twins Moroccan Scott and Monroe after the Moroccan-themed room where Cannon proposed her and the late screen siren respectively.
'Iron Man' star Robert Downer Jr has titled his second son Exton Elias Downey.
'Clueless' star Alicia Silverstone named her son Bear Blu and the actress said it was husband Christopher Jarecki's mother who came up with the name.
New mother Shakira chose the name Milan Pique i Mebarak for her first child with boyfriend Gerard Pique, and the couple said they decided on the name because of its different meaning in different languages.

Cage is said to have taken the name from the superhero series because of his widely known addiction to comic books. One of Irish singer Bob Geldof's daughter goes by the unusual name of Fifi Trixibelle, but he is highly unimpressed with his second daughter Peaches' choice of name for his grandson.
Peaches named her baby boy Astala Dylan Willow Cohen-Geldof, and it is said that Bob is so unimpressed by his grandchild's title that he has begged his daughter to change it. "Yuck! What's he going to be called in school? Ass? Stella? It's a girl's name, let's face it," Bob had said.
Actress Jessica Simpson named her baby girl Maxwell Drew Johnson, which has received mixed reviews from her fans. But she said the moniker carried on her and fiance Eric Johnson's family name as Maxwell is Johnson's middle name and his grandmother's surname and Drew is from her maternal grandmother Tina Simpson, whose maiden name is Drew.
British actress Sienna Miller stayed true to her roots when naming her child, Marlow, as it is a unisex moniker of Old English origin; which means "driftwood," or "lake leavings" and was first used to refer to a region near Buckinghamshire, England.

Paltrow's son is named Moses, after her husband's song of the same name. Former "Friends" star Courteney Cox, who wanted to name her child after herself, named her Coco because ex-husband David Arquette's family refused to name a child after a living relative as it goes against Jewish tradition.
Cox then settled for Coco, which is also her nickname given to her by her mother as a child. Another name which makes to the list is Destry Allyn
Spielberg, son of filmmaker Steven Spielberg and wife Kate Capshaw. Spielberg never explained the unusual choice.
U2 singer Bono, who is married to Alison Hewson and raises four children with her, named his daughter Memphis Eve but she is now known by the name Eve Hewson.
Other weird baby names include King of Pop Michael Jackson's son Prince Michael II/Blanket and Jermaine Jackson's son Jermajesty.
