BlackBerry makers RIM has agreed to allow manual access code to messenger service from September 1.

New Delhi: BlackBerry makers Research In Motion has reportedly agreed to allow manual access code to BlackBerry messenger service from September 1 and automatic access from November to the Indian government.

Technical discussions on BlackBerry enterprise server are still going on. RIM officials are coming on Tuesday for talks with the Ministry of Home Affairs and Department of Telecommunications.

RIM's proposed move could allay fears about security concerns in connection with the BlackBerry among Indian authorities and intelligence agencies who fear that terror groups could use the smartphone to launch and coordinate terror strikes.

RIM had been given a deadline of August 31 to give the means to read e-mail and instant messages sent over the BlackBerry by Indian authorities. RIM had been threatened that BlackBerry services would be barred if the company did not comply with the Government's demand.
