Coastal security exercise from Tuesday

KOCHI: The two-day coastal security exercise ‘Neptune-05’ begins on Tuesday. The Southern Naval Command in coordination with Coast Guard District Headquarters No 12 based at Kavaratti will conduct ‘Neptune -05’.The exercise will test the coastal security readiness of the island territories and will be monitored and co-ordinated from Joint Operations Centre at Kochi.Units from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, Police force, India Reserve Battalion, Port authorities and other stake-holders of coastal security are participating in the exercise.The Navy and the Coast Guard are in the process of strengthening the security of the islands with increased presence.
