Congress sets up Committee for Jharkhand unit
In its bid to put a united Congress in Jharkhand ahead of the next general elections, Congress today approved a jumbo Committee of office-bearers for its state unit that includes six vice presidents, 19 general secretaries and 28 secretaries.

In its bid to put a united Congress in Jharkhand ahead of the next general elections, Congress today approved a jumbo Committee of office-bearers for its state unit that includes six vice presidents, 19 general secretaries and 28 secretaries.

The new list approved by Congress President Sonia Gandhi also includes a 25-member Executive Committee of the Jharkhand State Congress, which also has a 30 members as special invitees.

Congress shares power in Jharkhand with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, after BJP government was ousted earlier this year.

The Jharkhand Committee, headed by Sukh Dev Bhagat, has former Minister KN Jha, former MP Tilakdhari Singh, former deputy chief minister Stephen Marandi, former acting PCC chief HN Sahu and Raj Rajendra Pratap Deo (former MLA) and former Minorities Committee chief Gulfam Mujibee as party vice presidents.

The new general secretaries include former MLAs O P Lal, Kesav Mahto Kamlesh and Kalicharan Munda, former MLC Devendra Nath Champai and former NSUI chief Alok Dubey.

The party has also named Surya Kant Shukla as secretary, office in charge and Lal Kishornath Shahdeo, Ajay Rai and Sanjay Pandey as secretary, member media.

Besides, Pranav Jha has been made coordinator of the social media department with Rajkumar Singh Rudra, Samir Bhagat and Sarfe Alam as its members. It has also made four members in the protocol department.
