KARIMNAGAR: A criminal case was registered against Dr Surya Prakash, a neurosurgeon in Karimnagar government hospital, on Monday for trying to cover up a patient’s death.His private hospital, Kanuri Hospitals, where the patient died, was sealed late on Monday evening.After the death of the patient, Rachori Rajender (35), Dr Prakash, in a bid to avoid complications, reportedly shifted the body to the government hospital.On Monday, Rajender’s relatives met Karimnagar collector Smita Sabharwal and apprised her of the case.She ordered additional joint collector Sundar Abnar to probe into it.Abnar went to the government hospital and in the presence of media inquired Dr Surya Prakash. Finding fault with the doctor, the additional joint collector asked DSP D Srinivasa Rao to register a criminal case against Surya Prakash.Meanwhile, the collector suspended Dr Surya Prakash, head nurse Neelamma, staff nurses Hasanbee and Srilatha, ward boy Srinivas and sweeper Akthar for involvement in the conspiracy.
