CHENNAI: Barely a week after being appointed as the Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB), senior IAS officer Swaran Singh has been shifted out.
A late night order of the government said that he would be replaced by another senior officer Hans Raj Verma who was earlier Principal Secretary/Commissioner of Labour. Swaran Singh has not been given a new posting yet.Verma will also serve as the Chairman and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDO) and also as the Chairman of Tamil Nadu Transmission Corporation Limited (TANTRANSCO), the order read.

The announcement came from the State government at around 11.30 p.m. and no reason was stated for the sudden transfer of Swaran Singh. His appointed to the TNEB was effected on May 20. Meanwhile, the State goverment also transferred 21 IAS officers in various departments.
