New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi was not quite impressed with the promise of 'acche din' as laid out in the economic survey, and giving out reasons for his lack of enthusiasm, in a Twitter post on Monday, said all was well except that growth across sectors was witnessing a downward trend.

Rahul, in his tweet, said growth in industry, agriculture, jobs was going downhill, which he explained by way of a downward arrow. GDP growth, too, he said, was heading south.

In order not to sound too pessimistic and ruin the 'acche din', Rahul then referenced the hugely memorable 1988 song 'Don't worry, be happy' to bring some cheer.

The Bobby McFerrin song was an instant hit back in the day.

At a media briefing Chief Economic Adviser Arvind Subramanian, who authored the economic survey, said that the economy "seems to be picking up quite nicely and robustly" as temporary impact of demonetisation and GST has been decimated.

The growth would be higher if exports pick up, he said but listed oil prices and a correction in elevated share prices as downside risks.

What's your reaction?
