BALASORE: Even as all the accused in the October 13 gangrape of a college student in Baliapal are yet to be apprehended, another girl, aged 22, was allegedly gang-raped in a bus on Friday night. The bus driver and conductor have been arrested in this connection.The victim, a native of Mahanga in Cuttack district and working as a labourer in Bhubaneswar, had boarded the Baliapal-bound bus at Baramunda bus stand in the Capital.Though she was to get down at Cuttack to offer puja at a temple, she couldn’t identify the place. When she enquired from the conductor, the latter assured to help her disembark at the desired place. Police said the bus conductor and driver then took her to Baliapal where they allegedly committed the crime. Baliapal IIC Ajay Tirkey said the two raped her inside the bus after it reached Baliapal in the night. In her FIR, the victim claimed that after the heinous act they left her unconscious and only after regaining sense she informed a local about the incident.Following the allegation, police have arrested bus conductor Shakti Kumar Nayak (22) of Soro and driver Sanjay Panda of Barabati area in Cuttack. After a medical examination, she would be sent home.
