The fate of diploma holders in education (D.Ed) hangs in the air as the state government is likely to challenge the AP state administrative tribunal order making them eligible to write the District Selection Committee (DSC) examination for the post of school assistants, in the High court.
However, “the dates for the DSC examination will remain unchanged,” said the secondary education minister, K. Parthasarthi.
The exams are scheduled to be held between August 25 and 28. The central government had decided to allow the D.Eds, with a B.A or B.Sc degree, to appear for the SA post in DSC.
Under the earlier system, the D.Ed holders were allowed to appear only for the post of Secondary Grade Teacher (SGT).
Though the tribunal orders allow them to appear for the DSC examination, it does not confer them eligibility for selection for the post of school assistants.
