BANGALORE: Karnataka High Court on Friday slapped a fine of `500 on an advocate who had come as proxy for another advocate.“Ignorant and incompetent lawyers are proliferating the legal profession these days.,” Justice D V Shylendra Kumar said.He slapped a fine of `500 on advocate Harish, who appeared on behalf of K N Mohan and submitted that he was a proxy advocate. Harish pleaded ignorance towards developments in the case.“This is a most obnoxious practice that is bringing down the nobility of legal profession,” Justice Kumar said.Malleswaram Residents’ Petition AdjournedKarnataka High Court on Friday, adjourned the hearing of a writ petition filed by the residents of Malleswaram challenging the building plan sanctioned by the BBMP Chief Engineer to construct a multi-storey commercial building in the area. for Messers Kamini Srinivasn Krupad.The petitioners contended that the construction of a commercial complex comprising basement, ground and three upper floors in the area is not in compliance to the zonal regulations under the revised master plan 2015.
