New Delhi: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Civil Aviation Praful Patel and the Air India staff are locked in a war of words.
On June 15 Patel reportedly got into a row with the crew of AI-112 New York-London-Delhi-Mumbai flight with employees alleging the minister misbehaved on board, even demanding alcohol when the seat belt sign was on.
The minister apparently told the airline staff to "perform or perish".
Patel, however, has denied the charges vehemently saying that he was just pointing out certain deficiencies in service.
Responding to the letter - a copy of which is with CNN-IBN - he said, "I would like to inform you that there were no shortcomings in service rendered to me personally. However, being a responsible person, I thought it was my duty to bring to the notice of the crew some shortcomings in service or other issues which could be handled better in the comfort and interest of the passengers."
