THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Congress (B) will hand over a letter to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Wednesday for withdrawing the lone representative of the party in the Cabinet Forest Minister K B Ganesh Kumar.On behalf of KC(B), party general secretary Venugopalan Nair will meet the Chief Minister and will communicate the party’s decision to him.A UDF meet will be convened on Wednesday to discuss the issue in which Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala and UDF convener P P Thankachan will participate. It is learnt that the UDF will put forward a compromise formula to the KC(B) to woo party chairman K Balakrishna Pillai by offering Board and Corporation nominees to KC(B) nominees.Pillai lashed out against Ganesh Kumar on Tuesday and alleged that it was Chief Minister Oommen Chandy who is backing Ganesh to go against the party and the party chairman."From the day Ganesh took oath as minister he is going against the party and the Chief Minister is supporting it. If the minister does not step down from his post, then legal course of action will be taken to challenge his post of MLA,’’ Balakrishna Pillai said.Pillai said that the decision was taken unanimously by the party secretariat. Pillai is learnt to have consulted with the Nair Service Society (NSS) general secretary G Sukumaran Nair regarding the decision. “The NSS leadership has agreed to our decision to withdraw the minister,’’ he said.
