THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The 24th Kerala Science Congress being held from January 29 to 31, 2012, under the joint auspices of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology & Environment and the Rubber Board at the Rubber Research Institute of India, Kottayam, will focus on the impact of climate change on plantation crops and spices. The main discussion will concentrate on the changes brought about by global warming, increase in carbon dioxide content of the atmosphere, floods, droughts etc, in the productivity of plantation crops as well as quality of spices.  A compendium of papers on the research achievements in the field of scientific intervention to mitigate problems created by climatic changes will be published on the occasion.  Scientists and research scholars, who wish to present papers should register online, along with the extended abstract of the papers, on or before November 30, said a press release issued here on Friday.  For more details, log on to: www.ksc.kerala.gov.in.
