THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The parents of the Kiliroor victim demanded that Opposition Leader VS Achuthanandan should be made prime witness and reinvestigate the case, in view of the fact that he had vociferously raised various issues pertaining to the case before becoming the Chief Minister.Surendran, the girl’s father, pointed out that Achuthanandan had listed out 17 specific points to the media.He also demanded that Thomas Chandy MLA should be made an accused in the case and incidents related to the torture of his daughter in the resort, owned by him in Alappuzha, should also be unravelled in detail. He said that he would submit a memorandum to the Chief Minister in this regard on Monday.The involvement of CPM leaders and former ministers Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, M A Baby and P K Sreemathi should also be probed, he demanded, referring to the VIP angle which had given a new dimension to the case but was turned down by the CBI court the other day, citing no ground for it on the basis of the chargesheet or statement of witnesses.They alleged that several points raised as complaints were not considered and given weightage while the CBI framed the chargesheet. The victim’s mother was examined on Friday also.Her plea for incorporating new aspects in the case was turned down by the court, pointing that it should have been resorted to in the course of the probe and before the filing of the chargesheet.
