HYDERABAD: A 45-year-old man hanged himself to death from an electric tower at Uppal on Tuesday reportedly for the cause of Telangana.The deceased was in possession of a xerox copy of his ration card in which he wrote ‘Jai Telangana,’ police said. The deceased, K Chandramouli, was a resident of Chilkanagar and used to do odd jobs for his livelihood.According to his family members, Chandramouli left home at around 4.30 a.m on Tuesday stating that he was going out for work.Around 9.30 a.m, locals saw a body hanging from the 32 kv electric tower near Warangal bus stand on the Uppal road.With the help of the documents available, he was identified as Chandramouli.“We found a xerox copy of his ration card with Jai Telangana word scribbled on it.A ‘kanduva’ of TRS party was wrapped to his waist,’’ Uppal police inspector R Satyanarayana Raju said.On hearing about the news Telangana activists started gathering the place but police dispersed the crowd and shifted the body to hospital for post-mortem.Chandramouli is survived by wife and three children.After autopsy, the body was handed over to the family and shifted to their native place Pochampally in Nalgonda district.
