KOCHI: The officials of the Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL ), along with that of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC ) and the district administration, conducted a survey on the proposed station sites at various parts of the district on Tuesday.The inspection began from Aluva and ended at Vytilla Mobility Hub.Overall 11 sites were inspected.The inspection was held to assess the different possibilities that could be incorporated during the construction of the stations.The Ministry of Urban Development has been particular that the Kochi Metro must be well integrated with the other modes of transport to ensure a seamless movement of traffic, said KMRL managing director Tom Jose.“The KMRL has received a number of suggestions and complaints on the alignment of the metro, parking and location.During the inspection, we have checked all the possibilities and issues,” he said and added that the inspection of the remaining 12 stations will be completed in the coming days.As per the observations of the team, the KMRL will look into the possibility of changing the locations of the stations.Maximum efforts will be put to ensure that the Metro is aligned along the vacant plots without obstructing the buildings.Efforts will also be taken to position the Metro in such a way that maximum integration is possible with the existing modes.For instance, maximum integration will be brought with the metro stations and bus stops
