HYDERABAD: The Task Force police on Saturday arrested three persons involved in preparing fake voter ID cards and seized 21 fake voter ID Cards, 400 holograms, stamps, a computer, a pen drive and application forms (Form-6) of voters from them. K Ramulu, resident of Raghavendra Colony in Uppal, C Yadaiah, an office assistant working at Radiant Cables in Sanathnagar and a resident of NBT Nagar in Banjara Hills and Kanchetty Raju, a business development executive at ING Vysya who is a resident of Rail Enclave were involved in making fake ID cards.Police said that Ramulu has been working in the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) as an attender at the election cards wing. He used to collect applications of the voters through Yadaiah and Raju and charge `300 to `800. He used to issue fake voter ID cards without verification or intimation to the concerned officials. However, details of the voters were entered into the database of the Election Commission. Ramulu managed to get a copy of the software used to make ID cards. Police said he used to make fake voter ID cards at home, stick original holograms issued by the government and print the impression of government recognized rubber stamp and later, issue it to people. “Ramulu used to collect photos and details of voters and prepare fake voter ID cards,’’ police said.
