New Delhi: Atleast 14 school children were injured and three sustained critical injuries, when a school bus fell into a culvert in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh on Monday.
The bus, which was carrying 50 children was on its way to Macherla town when it fell into a culvert on a rivulet.
The injured students were rushed to the Government Hospital in Macherla town and the three students critically injured students were shifted to Guntur.
Macherla MLA P Ramakrishna Reddy visited the hospital and consoled the students parents.
State Tribal Welfare Minister Kidari Sravan Kumar also spoke to the Guntur district health authorities and enquired about the students' condition.
"Their condition is fine and they are recovering. There is no cause for concern," PTI quoted the local Sub-Divisional Police Officer as saying.
Police are questioning the driver of the bus.
