THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan has alleged that the investigation into the T P Chandrasekharan murder was progressing as per a "pre-planned script’’ and that the police team was under pressure to arrest two top CPM leaders.Taking a U-turn from the stand that the CPM  would not interfere in the investigation, Vijayan told reporters here that the members of the probe team were being pressured to arrest two top CPM leaders. They were threatened that those who did not obey would be removed from the team, he said."Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan are interfering in the investigation. Mullappally was the first person to allege CPM hand in the murder and he is misusing his power,’’ Pinarayi said.He also alleged that Kozhikode Rural SP T K Rajmohan was close to the UDF and this was evident also in the way the Marad probe was conducted. "He was given IPS though it was opposed by the Centre and the UDF has included such a person in the investigation team,’’ he said.Reiterating CPM’s earlier stand, he said that the party had no role in the murder of Chandrasekharan and that the CPM would conduct an inquiry on its own if proved otherwise. "Now, the police have arrested CPM local committee member K C Ramachandran and a few others terming them as accused in the murder case. But it has to be looked into by the party whether they were involved in the murder or they had been falsely implicated. If anyone in the party is found guilty, action will be taken against him,’’ said Vijayan, who had earlier said that none of the party workers was involved in the murder. He said the Koothuparamba party office secretary Babu was beaten up by the police asking him to take the name of CPM leaders. "He was taken to Vadakara and was beaten up badly to give statement against the CPM leaders, Vijayan said and added that Kodi Suni did not have any connection with the CPM. In Onchiyam, just like during the Emergency period, the police were remaining mute spectators when the houses and offices of CPM party workers were being attacked. The police back out when the houses of CPM workers are attacked. But when the CPM workers try to defend them from the attack, immediately the police arrest them. Police in the region are  supporting the attack,’’ he alleged.
