Two rival Maoist groups engage in fierce encounter at Palamu

A fierce encounter took place on Sunday between two rival ultra outfits near Phulwaria village in Palamu district bordering Bihar, police said. The encounter lasted for about three hours between Maoists and Trutiya Prastuti Committee cadres, according to a preliminary report, Dy SP Ajay Kumar said.

Superintendent of Police YS Ramesh along with adequate security personnel rushed to the spot, Kumar said. A joint operation with Bihar has been launched to apprehend the militants, he said.
