Want To Add Something Healthy To Your Diet? This Maharashtrian Dish Might Just Be The One
Maharashtrian Moogacha Bhaat or moong sprouts rice, ensures plenty of nutrition without compromising the taste.

It is important to prioritise your health if you want to continue doing the stuff you love or be there for your loved ones. One of the easiest ways to do that is by incorporating some healthy and, most importantly, tasty dishes into your diet.

You can start with Maharashtrian Moogacha Bhaat or moongs sprouts rice, a recipe that ensures plenty of nutrition without compromising the taste. Not only Maharashtrian Moogacha Bhaat is easy to prepare as well as delicious, you do not have to spend much on its ingredients. To make this recipe you need to have the following ingredients:

1 cup of rice

1 cup of sprouted gram

1 finely chopped onion

1 finely chopped tomato

3 to 4 finely chopped green chillies

1 tsp of ginger garlic paste

Half a cup of coriander leaves

Half a cup of mint Leaves

1 tsp of cumin seeds

1 tsp of red chilli powder

1 tsp of garam masala

Half tsp of turmeric powder

1 cinnamon

4 cloves

6-8 peppercorns

1 star anise seed

4 green cardamom

2 bay leaves

2 tsp of oil

Salt to taste

3 cups of hot water

1 tsp of lemon juice

How to Prepare Moogacha Bhaat:

– Wash the rice and let it soak for half an hour. After that, take a pan and heat some oil in it. Then add dry masalas like cumin seeds, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, and bay leaves along with some ginger garlic paste. Saute the mixture, till the raw smell subsides.

– When the mix is cooked well, add onions to it and cook till it turns shiny. Then add chopped tomatoes and green chillies along with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala and 2 tsp of salt. At last, add coriander and mint leaves.

– Let the mixture cook for five minutes on a low flame and make sure the oil is separated. Add the sprouted gram and rice to the mix and pour three cups of hot water into it. Stir the ingredients and cover the pan.

– The rice needs to be cooked for 15 to 20 minutes on low flame, then squeeze some lemon juice. Garnish the dish with chopped coriander and your nutritious Moogacha Bhaat is ready.
