The 10-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festival will come to an end tomorrow, September 28 with Ganesh visarjan. Devotees, especially in Maharashtra, have left no stone unturned to enjoy this festival to the fullest. Celebrities from the Marathi film industry have also put their best foot forward in doing the same. Some of them have participated in one of the dhol-tasha troupes, Kalavant Dhol Tasha Pathak. They enthusiastically played the dhol amid the heavy rains. These artists include Shruti Marathe, Saurabh Gokhale, Anuja Sathe, Astad Kale, Siddharth Jadhav, and Tejas Barve. Kalavant Dhol Tasha Pathak is one of the most famous troupes from Pune. These actors joined the other dhol players in the troupe and brilliantly played the musical instrument. The actors have reportedly undergone proper training to play the dhol and handled it with utmost finesse.
A special program was organised in the Utsav Life Old Age Home by the Kalavant Dhol Tasha Pathak. An entertainment portal has shared the clip of these artists and wrote in the caption, “93.5 RED FM and Kalavant Dhol Pathak’s artists performed in the rain for the Utsav Life – Old Age Home programme.” Social media users loved the clip.
Saurabh Gokhale and Anuja Sathe are the most sought-after actors in the Marathi film industry. For those who don’t know, they are a real-life couple as well. They had started preparing for the Ganpati Mahotsav celebrations in Pune for quite a long time. Anuja talked about her experience of preparing for this festival in an interview with The Times of India. She said, “Performing during the visarjan miravnuk is a big responsibility. All the practice pays off when the crowd enjoys our performance. The energy is electrifying, and I like to call it the puneri trance.”
Saurabh said that they have been performing for the Maanacha Pahila, Kasba Ganpati for the past three-four years and it’s an honour for us. He said that people come from different parts of the city to cheer for them. Anuja last acted in Phakaat, while Saurabh worked in Cirkus.
