Doctor Who, the acclaimed sci-fi series has been winning the hearts of the audience ever since its inception in 2005. With 13 seasons to its name and two yet-to-be-released ones, Doctor Who is one of the longest-running British web shows. Over the years, many prominent celebrities have slipped into the shoes of the Doctor. In the recent cast change for the upcoming 14th season, Sex Education fame Ncuti Gawta will be breathing life into the Doctor’s character. While the 14th segment will premiere in May, the 15th season has already started rolling. Now, photos from the filming sets revealed another special cast addition, aka actress Varada Sethu.
Reportedly, speculations were rife about Varada Sethu’s entry in Doctor Who. Putting a full stop to the rumours, the latest pictures from the sets, circulating widely on X (formerly Twitter) have confirmed that she is a part of the 15th season. Her character is yet to be unveiled. The photos capture Varada in short hair, dressed in a vintage yellow dress, and Ncuti Gawta in a powder blue suit with a red bowtie, spotting a new hairstyle. The two seem to be running away from a chaotic background amidst smoke and dust in what appears to be a 1950s American street. In another viral snap, Varada and Ncuti can be seen raising their hands in the air and intertwining them.

After the pictures surfaced on the internet, viewers of Doctor Who reacted to them. Many even expressed their excitement to watch the 14 and 15th seasons of the series. “Wow I am looking forward to this," commented one individual. “They look so good," quipped another. Admiring Varada Sethu, a third user wrote, “I think I’m getting a crush on her already."

Although the leaked pictures have hinted at Varada Sethu’s appearance in Doctor Who, BBC has yet to officially announce the news. Earlier, Millie Gibson essayed the role of the Doctor’s companion Ruby Sunday in the series’ 14th installment. Supposedly, Varada will be replacing her. Earlier, Millie hinted at her departure from Doctor Who in an interview with Fabric magazine. “I think, now that the strike’s over, probably auditioning again, for parts, and seeing what’s out there," she said.
Doctor Who revolves around Doctor, an extra-terrestrial being, harbouring the special ability to across time and space with a unique device called TARDIS.
