The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) began the online application process for the Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students (CSSS) on October 13. Candidates can apply for the scholarship by visiting the national scholarship portal at scholarships.gov.in. “Online application for “Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship for College and University Students” for the year 2023-24, 1st Renewal for the year 2022, 2nd renewal for the year 2021, 3rd Renewal for the year 2020 and 4th Renewal for the year 2019 is available on National Scholarship Portal http://scholarships.gov.in,” read the official notice.
It is important to note that candidates can visit the National Scholarship Portal to apply for fresh as well as renewal scholarships. According to the notification, the last date to submit the online application form for renewal and fresh scholarship 2023-24 is December 31.
All students are requested to submit their online applications by the deadline and have them validated by the institutions (if necessary, provide the original papers to the institute); failing to do so will result in the application being deemed invalid. In addition, it is recommended that all Institute nodal officers promptly (verify/defect/reject) the online applications using their institute login.
CBSE Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship 2023: Eligibility Criteria
–– Students in Class XII who rank higher than the 80th percentile of successful applicants in the respective stream from a certain Board of Examination.
–– Students pursuing their regular programmes and not correspondence or distance courses.
–– Students coming from a family income of less than Rs 4.5 lakh per annum.
–– Students must not receive any other scholarship or fee reimbursement from Institutes/Colleges of any kind.
–– Diploma candidates are not eligible under this scheme.
CBSE Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship 2023: Steps to Register
Step 1: Go to the official website of NSP at scholarships.gov.in.
Step 2: On the homepage, look for and click on the link provided for the CBSE CSSS scholarship scheme 2023.
Step 3: As a new window opens, enter all the details as asked.
Step 4: Then fill out the application form as required and submit it.

While registering on the National Scholarship Portal, students must keep a set of the following documents ready.

–– Aadhaar card
–– Parental income certificate
–– A valid and registered mobile number
–– An active e-mail ID
