Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) in Bhubneshwar is being slammed after a dead frog was found in its hostel food. ‘X’ user Aaraynsh took to the micro blogging site and shared the scary image which has now garnered a lot of traction on social media. In the caption, he mentioned how people parents’ pay approximately Rs 17.5 lakhs to get their child an engineering degree. Despite such a hefty amount, this is the food being served at the college hostel. “Then we wonder why students from India migrate to other countries for better education and facilities,” he stated further.

In the image that he has shared online, food can be seen spilled out of the plate. There is a dead frog lying right in the middle of all the mess.

In another update, the college responded to the mistake. In an attempt to do damage control, it decided to deduct one day’s payment from the mess provider company. The same user shared the notice shared by college authorities. “So, the authorities decided to deduct one day’s payment from the mess service provider as a solution to this issue,” he mentioned.

The image has sparked anger among people on social media. “Pathetic….the institution,the canteen contractor, the incharge all should be sued & their licences should be suspended,” commented an ‘X’ user. Another person wrote, “Canteen food is miserable in almost all the govt colleges but private ones are 5 star quality food.”
“Once we got Lizard in food in our Hostel Mess. Didn’t eat in Mess for the whole semester after that,” wrote another user.
