The roadshow for the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, which will take place from January 11 to January 13, 2024, after a five-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is going to be conducted in New Delhi on Friday, October 6, 2023. During the roadshow, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel will address prominent industrialists. He will also meet Heads of Missions in the presence of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which was started in 2003 under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, then chief minister of the state, has completed 20 years.
“The tenth edition of the VGGS marks a significant milestone in Gujarat’s journey from the ‘Most Preferred Investment Destination’ to a ‘Gateway to the Future’ in shaping the vision of New India. Following the celebration of 20 years of Vibrant Gujarat as the ‘Summit of Success,’ a Curtain Raiser event is scheduled on October 6th in New Delhi led by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel,” according to an official release.
The gathering will also witness the presence of Minister of Finance, Energy and Petrochemicals Kanubhai Desai, Minister for Industry Balvantsinh Rajput, Minister of State for Industries Harsh Sanghavi, and Minister of State for Industries (MSME, Cottage, Khadi and Rural Industries, Civil Aviation) Jagdish Vishwakarma.
The event will take place in two segments: Curtain Raiser Interactive Session and Interactions with Heads of Missions. The session will include a welcome address by B K Goenka, chairman of Welspun, a screening of an audio-video film, a presentation on the Vibrant Gujarat Summit by Gujarat Additional Chief Secretary (Industries & Mines Department) S J Haider and an address by DPIIT Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh.
The event will also witness experience sharing by prominent industry captains about Gujarat, an address by the Gujarat Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, apart from an address by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
Last week, marking the completion of 20 years of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said 20 years ago, when the Vibrant Gujarat Summit first took place in 2003, the state was struggling in various aspects, mainly from earthquake and drought, some mercantile banks also collapsed that time, and the state was in a deep financial trouble.
The resolve to get the state out of the financial trouble led to the idea of Vibrant Summit, which became a medium of showing the capability of Gujarat to the world. Now, the summits have become the festival of the industrial development in the state.
“We sown a seed 20 years ago. Now, it has become a big vibrant tree. Vibrant Summit is not just for branding, but for bonding,” he said last week.
The last Vibrant Gujarat Summit took place in 2019. After a five-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vibrant Gujarat Summit is scheduled to be held from January 11 to 13, 2024. It generally takes place every two years.
