New Delhi: After facing a lot of flak over her absence in Parliament, Rajya Sabha MP Rekha finally attended the Budget session on Tuesday.

The Bollywood actress has attended a total of five sessions of Parliament since her nomination in 2012. Rekha had attended one day of the Winter Session of Parliament in February.

Lat week, MPs created an uproar in Rajya Sabha after Sachin Tendulkar and Rekha failed to attend even a single session of Parliament this year. MPs even questioned their nomination to the august House and said it was an insult to Parliament.

After MPs created a hue and cry over Rekha and Sachin Tendulkar's absence, Rajya Sabha Deputy chairman PJ Kurien had said that any action will be taken against any MP who is absent for 60 days or longer. "Both Sachin and Rekha are yet to cross that threshhold," Kurien had said.

On Monday, Kurien had granted leave to legendary cricketer. Sachin had clarified his absence from the House by saying that there was a medical emergency in the family.
