New Delhi: Announced earlier this year, the LG G5 - LG's first modular flagship smartphone - is now available for pre-booking for consumers in India.
Featuring a modular approach to design, the G5 lets users pop out the phone's bottom and swap in new hardware features. Early options include a camera grip with physical buttons to take shots and control video recording.
The one-of-its-kind smartphone comes in a sleek, metal uni-body design with a slide-out battery tray. It features an 'always on' 5.3-inch QHD display and under its hood is a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM. It further includes 32 GB of internal storage that is expandable up to 2 TB via microSD card.
The phone further comes with a 16 megapixel rear camera coupled with 8 megapixel front snapper. It comes with a 2800mAh removable battery and comes powered with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Other features include fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C, 4G LTE/VoLTE support, and hybrid dual SIM support.
Customers can pre-book the Rs 52,990 LG G5 from May 21 to May 30 on offline brand stores or online exclusively on Flipkart. The company is giving pre-bookers a companion device - the LG Cam Plus - for free.
