Additionally, the latest update will improve the AI image creation tools on Windows and macOS and even introduce an automatic sign-in feature for iOS users who are already logged into another Microsoft app.
Skype product manager, Irene Namuganyi wrote in a blog post, “Our latest update removes all ads from Skype channels and the entire Skype platform, ensuring a smoother, decluttered and more enjoyable user experience.”
The Redmond company also stated that by removing ads, users can focus on their chats without any distractions and allow uninterrupted browsing across channels. Also, Microsoft claims that it has prioritized user feedback to create a more streamlined and pleasant environment for Skype across all platforms.
Alongside the ad-removal in Skype, the update also improves the AI Image Creation tool for Skype Desktop and includes OneAuth support for iOS users.
With the new AI Image creation tool, users can create stunning pictures within their chat window with enhanced features and design tweaks. It is accessible from the chat window or the top bar.
Not just this, the tool’s UI interface has also been improved with one-click access to view generated images and a new back button for the ideas page.
The company is also bringing OneAuth integration in Skype for ios users that will allow the users to sign in to Skype automatically if they are already signed into other Microsoft apps on the same device. It replaces the previous sign-in method, allowing users to sign in to Skype automatically without re-entering passwords. The feature was earlier available only for the Android users.
Apart from these features, the new update includes several bug fixes too. Microsoft says it has resolved the issues related to media file sharing on the 5G network, incoming call acceptance on iOS devices and notification pop up for some users.
The update will be available for all users in the coming days.
