Caught On Camera: UP Traffic Police Officer Slaps Driver For Honking

A shocking incident in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur has come to light where a traffic constable is seen hurling abuses and slapping a car driver. The altercation occurred on a congested highway on June 12. The video of the incident has gone viral on the internet, sparking outrage.

In the clip, a traffic constable’s car is seen positioned in the front of the driver who is recording the video. As the driver blows the horn seeking a passage in the jam, the traffic constable storms towards the driver with aggression. He immediately unleashed a barrage of verbal abuse and even slapped the driver. The incident occurred in the Sachendi area of Kanpur on June 12.

The video was shared on X (formerly Twitter) from a handle named Ghar Ke Kalesh. The caption accompanying the video read, “Slap-Kalesh b/w a Traffic Police and Driver in Kanpur UP.”

After the video went viral, the police issued a statement saying that the constable involved has been taken off duty and his actions are under investigation. The press note mentioned that they took cognizance of the viral video on social media showing the policeman’s misconduct in the Kisan Nagar of Sachendi police station.

The video gained significant traction online amassing over 54,000 views. Many users expressed their outrage in the comments section.

According to the man, the conflict started when a police officer slapped his pet dog without any reason, prompting his anger. He then showed his dog, seated inside the car, and pointed at the police officer who allegedly hit him on the face.
