In India, there have been various cases where families have had arguments and separations due to property disputes. A similar case has been making headlines in the state of Bihar where a woman was declared dead in government records despite being alive.
This incident happened in Budhwadih village, which is located in Ward No. 11 of Madhopur Panchayat in the Chakai block area of Jamui district. It has been reported that the main reason for this was a property dispute between stepbrothers. The woman had to fight for many months in court to get justice for her life.
According to reports, the name of the woman is Lakhpati Devi, who is around 80 years old. It has been reported that the entire case was nothing but a fraud that was done by her own family. Reportedly, the woman’s death certificate was wrongly issued, and her death was recorded in the government documents. Lakhpati Devi’s son, Lalkishore Yadav, revealed that his father, Dhaneshwar Yadav, had two marriages and had children from both his wives.
He added that his father was a rich man and had around 4.25 acres of land. He added that his stepmother had died and his stepbrothers had issued a death certificate in Lakhpati Devi’s name. He further said that this was mainly done to get the property share.
When Lakhpati Devi learned about this, she filed a written complaint against the situation with the officials in her block and district. The woman kept roaming around with her death certificate in her hands, pleading for justice. After struggling for 8 months, the woman finally got justice, and her case was accepted in court. The woman is no longer considered dead in the government records. When the officials got to know about the complete case, they took staunch measures against the family that made a fake death certificate against Lakhpati Devi. The woman is now alive and has been quite happy after getting justice.
