As inflation continues to escalate, people tend to look for multiple sources of income to live the lifestyle they want. While some opt to launch their startup, others look for multiple opportunities while working remotely to earn a sufficient amount. However, there are some with willingness to achieve the target but have no clue about the process for the same. These people can take notes from a US man who has been making headlines for making around Rs 1.4 crore in a year by working secretly.
US resident Adam, in January 2023, had an annual income of approximately $85,000 (around Rs 70 lakh). The man roughly owed around Rs 98 lakh in student loans. As the year proceeded towards its end, he managed to increase his yearly salary by double which is around Rs 1.4 crore. In the aftermath, he was able to lessen the burden of load and now, he has approximately Rs 54 lakh remaining in student loans.
Adam managed to double his income within a year with double-dipping. This simply means that he was illicitly earning from two different sources. As reported by Business Insider, the man was already employed in a full-time role when he took up a second job to boost his income. Earlier, Adam left his job with delivery services like DoorDash as those gigs were not profitable.
In December 2022, the man stumbled upon a YouTube video talking about the idea of secretly juggling multiple remote jobs simultaneously. Speaking to Business Insider, the man said, “I immediately knew that I could do this.” He added that he was lucky to have landed his second remote job in February 2023.
Adam further told the portal, “I don’t necessarily regret taking out the debt because it did help open more opportunities. I do regret being reckless and having poor money management skills.”
Apart from paying his student loan, double dipping has allowed Adam to raise his credit score to nearly 800, save enough funds for a four-month emergency, and support a few friends financially.
Adam reportedly works between 30 and 60 hours per week between the two jobs. He also has a few tips for workers indulged in multiple jobs which include the alignment of their work calendars, avoiding taking on too much work, and not getting work done too quickly.
