Students aiming to get admission to IITs, NITs and other top engineering institutions have to pass the Jee Advanced exam. This year’s examination was held on May 26, 2024. A total of 2,50,284 candidates qualified for the exam after scoring the qualifying marks in the Jee mains exam 2024. According to the schedule shared by the board, the results are set to be declared on June 9, 2024.
The ranking of the candidates who appeared for the Jee Advance examination is calculated based on the aggregate marks they scored in all the subjects of the examination. JEE Advanced 2024: Know about the Tie-breaking process
IIT Madras recently issued an official notification explaining the tie-breaking policy to determine the ranks in case of the same scores. Let us look at the steps followed to determine the ranks by the policy:
Step 1: Candidates with higher positive marks will get the higher rank.
Step 2: In the second step, students with higher marks in mathematics will get a higher rank. If it is still tied, then the marks of physics will be counted and candidates with higher marks will be awarded higher rank. If the tie persists then the same rank is awarded to the candidates.
