AIADMK state secretary A Anbazhagan on Tuesday slammed Congress MLA Malladi Krishna Rao for faxing his resignation to the Speaker terming it as a “drama”. He asked the Speaker to come out clear on whether the resignation has been accepted.
Addressing mediapersons here, Anbazhagan said faxing the letter was an improper way of tendering one’s resignation as it has to be duly signed by the MLA. He charged that Rao was aware of the said procedure as he had resigned as an MLA once in 1996 to allow then chief minister P Shanmugham to contest the by-election.
Anbazhagan demanded that Union Minister of State for Prime Minister’s Office V Narayansamy clarify the motive behind the Yanam legislator’s resignation.
