CHENNAI: Chief Minister and AIADMK general secretary J Jayalalithaa on Monday launched the e-ticket facility for the passengers travelling in the buses run by the State transport corporations. Through this facility, passengers can book their tickets online 30 days ahead of their journey date either through internet or through their mobile phones from any part of the globe.The Chief Minister launched this facility through video-conferencing facility from the Secretariat and four passengers received their tickets from her.The passengers can book their tickets online by using their credit card or debit card and can know about the seat number, departure time and fare. Immediately after booking the tickets online, an SMS will be sent to the mobile phone of the passenger confirming their booking. So far, tickets can be booked online only for the flights and Railways. The tickets can be booked through the website -www.tnstc.in. The number of booking centres would be increased from 50 to 300. Passengers can approach these centres personally for booking tickets.
