KOCHI: Aiming at preserving the tradition and culture of the Tamil Brahmin community in Kerala, ‘Kalanjali 2012’, a two-day cultural fest organised by the Kerala Brahmana Sabha’s Ernakulam unit, began here on Saturday. The event is part of a biennial function organised across the state. The event is meant to revive the long lost traditional art forms and customs of the community like kolattam (a dance form), valaya vantha pattu, soundarya lahari (a literary work in Sanskrit), bhajans, narayaneeyam, kolam drawing, wearing madisharu, preparing authentic Brahmin snacks and wearing panchakacham.
