Mumbai: After the Mumbai Police failed to reach out to Preity Zinta on phone, it has now written to the actress to record her statement within a week's time in the molestation case filed against her former boyfriend Ness Wadia.
The actress' lawyer had earlier in the day told CNN-IBN that the police had not contacted him in connection with the case.
Zinta had left for the US on Saturday after naming two witnesses in the case. Police will record their statement on Tuesday, said sources.
Sources said that these two witnesses are local businessmen who were sitting next to Preity in the corporate box on the evening of the alleged incident.
The police will also approach some of the Kings XI Punjab players and team officials about Preity's allegation that Ness Wadia used to abuse her, say sources. The police will also write to IPL officials, including COO Sundar Raman pertaining the complaint.
