Washington: The two young daughters of US President Barack Obama are not on popular social networking site Facebook with their mother feeling that it's not something they need right now.
"No" the First Lady Michelle said in an interview to the NBC News when asked if Malia, 12, and Sasha, 9, are on the Facebook.
"I'm not a big fan of young kids having Facebook.
So, you know, it's not something they need. It's not necessary right now," the First Lady argued.
Michelle said they are trying their best to make their daughters as normal as possible and they have been successful so far.
"I think we've done a good job. If you talk to our kids, they're really very normal. We recognise them. I say this all the time, but friends who come to visit, they look and go, 'These are the little girls we've known'. So we're
just going to stay vigilant. Knock on wood," Michelle said.
"There are a lot of great kids who have come out of the White House, so the tradition is great. The Bush girls are magnificent.
Chelsea Clinton, she's a solid young woman. We're all proud of them. So folks have done - Caroline Kennedy. I mean, we've got a pretty good track record. So the Obama girls hopefully will be among that group," she said.
