PIL against NCTC order dismissed

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has dismissed a public interest writ petition seeking to set aside the undated National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) Order, 2012. The first bench said the writ petition could not be entertained on the basis of an undated notification. The counsel for the petitioner could not satisfy the bench as to wherefrom the undated notification was procured. Discussions and deliberations were going on between the Centre and different States relating to the implementation of the order and the final notification had not yet been issued. “Keeping in mind the facts and circumstances of the case, we are not inclined to entertain the writ petition,” the bench said and dismissed it.
